Can you recover data from a RAID 0 array with one failed drive?

RAID 0 has no redundancy — if any drive fails, the entire array is inaccessible. However, if the failed drive has a logical fault, we can often recover data by imaging the failed drive first and reconstructing the stripe. Physical head crashes significantly reduce recovery chances. Bring it in for a free assessment first.

My RAID 5 started rebuilding after a drive failure, then a second drive failed. Can you still recover?

Yes — this is one of the most common RAID 5 failure scenarios (URE during rebuild). We can often still recover data by working at the sector level across all remaining drives. Do not attempt another rebuild — bring the array to us as-is.

My Synology NAS shows a degraded volume. Is my data safe?

A degraded volume means one drive has failed but the array is still functioning. Your data is accessible for now, but without redundancy — if another drive fails, you risk total data loss. Back up what you can and bring it in immediately for a free assessment.

Does the RAID controller need to be the same for recovery?

Not necessarily. We can reconstruct RAID parameters manually using our recovery tools. In most cases we do not need the original controller. If you have it, bring it along as it may help confirm parameters.
