Why it matters for laptop repair
Corrosion is why a laptop that “works fine” after a spill can fail completely a week later. The visible green or white deposits are active chemical reactions dissolving copper traces and corroding chip contacts. How it works

Even after the laptop is powered off and dries, the residue left behind remains hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from air) and continues reacting slowly.
