MacBook Air Repair – BreakFixNow

The MacBook Air is the most common MacBook we see in Singapore — students, freelancers and office users who carry it everywhere and use it every day. Parts are not shared between generations: an M2 screen will not fit an M1, and a 13″ top case will not fit a 15″. So the first step in any MacBook Air repair is identifying the exact model. This page lists every MacBook Air we repair with its A-number, chip and year, and links to the repair pages for that model.

How to Find Your MacBook Air Model

  • If it turns on: Apple menu → About This Mac shows the chip, screen size and year.
  • If it does not turn on: turn it over — the model number (A followed by four digits) is printed in small text near the hinge.

What Makes MacBook Air Repairs Different

  • No fan on Apple Silicon models. M-series MacBook Airs are fanless and slow down when hot instead of getting loud. See MacBook overheating repair. Intel MacBook Airs (2018–2020) do have a fan.
  • Charging changed with the M2. The M1 Air charges only through its two USB-C ports. From the M2 onwards there is also a MagSafe 3 port, so a charging fault can be on either side.
  • The keyboard is part of the top case. On every MacBook Air the keyboard is riveted into the top case, which is why a few dead keys usually means a top case replacement.
  • The SSD is soldered. On Apple Silicon models storage is on the logic board, and Intel 2018–2020 models encrypt it with the T2 chip. Back up before any repair, and bring a liquid-damaged Air in quickly.
  • A swollen battery often shows up as a trackpad fault. We check the battery before replacing a Force Touch trackpad.

MacBook Air Repair – FAQ

How much does MacBook Air repair cost in Singapore?

It depends on the repair and the model. Screen repair starts from $150, battery replacement from $130, keyboard repair from $150, trackpad repair from $120 and charging port repair from $60. Logic board repair is quoted after a free diagnosis.

How do I know which MacBook Air model I have?

Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac to see the chip, screen size and year. If the laptop will not turn on, the model number starting with A is printed on the underside near the hinge.

Do you repair the newest MacBook Air models?

Yes, including the 13-inch and 15-inch M4 MacBook Air (A3240 and A3241) and the M5 models. Parts for models released in the last year can take longer to source, so send us the model number on WhatsApp for a price and lead time.

Can an M1 MacBook Air screen be fitted to an M2 or M3?

No. The M1 uses a 13.3-inch Retina panel, while the M2 and M3 use a larger 13.6-inch Liquid Retina panel with a camera notch. Every generation needs its own screen assembly.

How long does MacBook Air repair take?

Most screen, battery, keyboard and trackpad repairs are done the same day, usually in 45–90 minutes. Logic board repair and data recovery take 3–7 working days.
