Common Aftershock Screen Faults
- Cracked or shattered screen: usually from a drop or from closing the lid on something. The panel has to be replaced.
- Lines, colour bands or black patches: the panel itself is damaged inside, often after pressure on the lid.
- Flickering that changes when you move the lid: often the display cable rather than the panel. A cable repair costs less than a new screen.
- Screen stuck at 60Hz after a repair elsewhere: a 60Hz panel was fitted in place of the original 144Hz or 165Hz one. The fix is fitting the correct panel.
- Black screen but the laptop is running: could be the panel, the cable or the graphics card. We test with an external monitor first, so you only pay for the part that’s actually faulty.
⚠️ Check the refresh rate on your quote: a 60Hz panel fits in most Aftershock lids and is cheaper, but you lose the smooth gaming display your laptop came with. We quote for the same refresh rate as your original panel unless you ask for a cheaper option.

Forge, Titan and S-Series
These gaming laptops mostly have 15.6″ to 17.3″ high-refresh panels. The Titan has the largest screens and the heaviest lids, so a drooping lid hinge can also strain the display cable. We check the hinges and cable during every screen repair.
Vapor, Apex and Slate
These thinner laptops have slim lids with thin bezels, so the panel sits very close to the edge and takes the impact when the laptop is dropped. Thin panels are easier to crack from pressure, such as a laptop squeezed in a full bag.

Yes. We match the refresh rate of your original panel and check it in Windows before handover. A cheaper 60Hz panel is only fitted if you ask for it.
My Aftershock screen flickers when I move the lid. Do I need a new screen?
Not always. Flickering that changes with the lid angle usually means the display cable is worn or loose. Replacing the cable costs less than a new panel. We test both before quoting.
